5 WAYS TO REMAIN POSITIVE DURING DIFFICULT TIMES

It's difficult to put on a happy front and be optimistic when life seems so different than it did even a year ago.

While we have no influence over what happens in 2022, we can all work to stay positive even on the most difficult days.

Consider doing these five steps daily to remind yourself of the goodness that exists around us if you need a pick-me-up.

Sometimes you just have to think beyond the box!

Make a Mental Note Of It.

Everyone could use a little reminder to keep their spirits up.

Simply placing a note on your bathroom mirror with a good message you wish to remember can add a small dose of sunshine to your day.

What is the significance of the bathroom?

It'll be the first thing you see when you wake up and the final thing you see when you go to bed.

Whether it's a good mantra or a simple reminder of something that makes you smile, write it down and paste it on the mirror.

Don't be frightened to express your phrase aloud every day.

After all, if you can sing in the shower, why can't you speak loudly in front of the mirror?

Look For It.

Even when we don't notice it, there is positive all around us.

Sometimes all you have to do is look for it.

Perhaps you look for a piece of positive news every day to give yourself a boost of optimism.

Maybe you make it a point to do something kind every day.

Why not read a nice book and look for positive affirmations inside it?

Remind yourself on a regular basis that there is good in the world; we simply have to look for it.

Don't Make Comparisons to Others

One of the major culprits in leading us down the rabbit hole of self-doubt is social media.

Remember that what you're seeing on the internet is simply a portion of the story; it's not the whole picture.

Many more people are struggling than what appears on the internet.

If you're feeling low because of comparison, try limiting your screen time and social media usage.

Even the folks who appear to always have it together have terrible days.

Consider checking in with a friend for a dose of positivity if you have the capacity.

p Look After Yourself.

When you're exhausted or don't feel like you have anything else to contribute, it's difficult to stay cheerful.

Before you can radiate positive energy into the world, you must first feel good about yourself.

Make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating enough fruits and veggies, and prioritizing your mental wellness.

Because of the environment we live in today, these activities are all more difficult, but if you prioritize taking care of yourself, positivity will come more naturally.

Return the favor.

If you want to find happiness in your own life, consider doing good for others.

There's nothing quite like the satisfaction you get from helping others.

This could be anything as simple as offering your time, assisting a friend, or donating to a cause you care about.

When we're not thinking so hard and just 'doing,' we might be more positive.

There's no denying that these are trying times.

Remember that you are never alone during these trying moments.

Look for good things as you go about your day, and if you can't find any, learn to make it!
